Service Description
Beginning with an initial radio call of an active assailant, to processing the trauma in the years after, our law enforcement professionals are faced with a rollercoaster of complex thoughts and emotions when responding to these critical incidents. In 2017, Josh Bitsko responded to the One October Massacre, the largest mass shooting in US history, where he led a team that ultimately made entry into the suspect's room. He will share his unique experience to provide officers with insight into what to expect before, during, and after an active shooter response. Topics covered in this class are: The importance of physical fitness and crisis rehearsal before an active assailant response Fear, anxiety, and tactical paralysis during an incident and how to push through these feelings The survivor's guilt post incident Healthy coping strategies for processing trauma Ways for a law enforcement agency to improve the wellness of its workforce after trauma
